Rivergum Homes has proudly commenced construction on the first 28 homes at Oaklands Green, a brand-new community recognised as one of the state’s most exciting housing renewal projects.

The project is being delivered by Housing Renewal Australia in partnership with Junction and SA Housing Authority. The 16.5ha site located in Oaklands Park is said to be the largest consolidated housing renewal project since Westwood in the early 2000s.

Oaklands Green seeks to unlock critical housing supply for all South Australians, with 15% of homes offered as affordable when purchased in partnership with the state government’s HomeSeeker initiative. The development will include 235 new social housing homes, 20 public houses, and over 450 market-ready homes.

Victor Said and Tony Scott of Rivergum Projects gathered on-site with Minister Nat Cook, Louise Miller-Frost MP, Sarah Andrews MP, and representatives from SA Housing Authority and Junction, to officialise this incredible housing opportunity with a sod turn on one of the allotments.

“Oaklands Park renewal is part of building a strong community while offering choice and diversity in housing. We are modernising affordable and social housing neighbourhoods,” said Minister Nat Cook.

“This project has been a long time in the making and much anticipated. To be part of delivering this during a time of housing shortage is both satisfying and rewarding.”

Rivergum Homes is proud to be delivering the very first homes at Oaklands Green and looks forward to seeing this brand-new community develop and thrive.
