Rivergum climbs HIA Housing 100 ranking

Rivergum has skyrocketed up Australia’s list of most active homebuilders, listed as the fourth largest semi-detached dwelling builder in the country – up from number 10 last year – and the third largest homebuilder in South Australia, climbing one spot.

The ranking was announced this week as part of the Housing Industry Association’s HIA Housing 100 Report 2023/24, which also lists Rivergum as number 34 of the country’s 100 most active homebuilders (up from 40 last year). Rankings are determined by number of homes started over the last financial year.

Rivergum commenced 453 new home builds for South Australians in 2023/24, with 294 of those semi-detached builds.

“Our Projects team focuses on semi-detached builds because they represent exceptional value for customers – without ever compromising quality – and can be delivered at scale,” said Tony Scott, Rivergum General Manager, Projects.

“Rivergum has grown a strong reputation with private developer and government partners for maintaining our high standards of excellence while also delivering a product that addresses demand for volume and affordability in the current landscape.

“With a project pipeline of over 1000 new homes, we look forward to continuing to strengthen our development and affordability credentials on both our own developments and those driven by our partners – while also working together with our customers to create beautifully designed homes.”

Now celebrating its 30th year, Rivergum has grown considerably over the last three decades, with its original team of 15 now at over 90 staff and a consistent increase in number of homes built.

Rivergum Founder and Managing Director Victor Said attributed the increase in starts to his team’s ongoing commitment to deliver for South Australians.

“This increase in volume shows that more South Australians are choosing Rivergum to build their dream home, and more project partners are trusting us to deliver quality solutions at scale for the state,” Victor said.

“Homebuilders have a critical role to play in addressing the current challenges of the housing market and for us that means creating solutions that represent value and quality for our customers at high volumes.

“We believe there’s never been a more important time to be good at what we do and we’re proud to have established ourselves as a leader in South Australia.”
