Ever wondered what makes our Coast and Country range different?

There are numerous features sought after by homeowners when researching home designs, but for rural and regional homes, there are always some crowd favourites. Sprawling timber decks that wrap around the home, large glass balustrades that open up living rooms to the outdoors and large windows to maximise on views are easy winners, and are why Rivergum’s Coast and Country homes are specifically designed for their location, climate and settings.

But for some, these luxurious features never make it to the final product with buyers dreading the impacts harsh weather conditions could have on their dream properties.

At Rivergum Homes we are turning those dreams into a reality by building homes in our Coast and Country range using materials that can withstand the strength of regional downpours, winds and storms.

National Design Manager, John Eckert, believes good design is not just about the “look and aesthetic appeal” of the home, but how the home can cope with “the stresses of day-to-day life”.

And he uses that philosophy as the foundation for his design processes, integrating the very best materials possible to keep the homes in top condition.

“Our Coast and Country range is built with materials and products which create a striking, yet sympathetic façade for their landscapes, are highly weather resistant and low maintenance,” John says.

“Lightweight materials like Colourbond are a key feature of these homes as they can provide a softness that suits both rural and coastal environments, while withstanding the harsh environmental conditions that come with such locations.”

That means homeowners can add that sprawling timber deck to their lower level floor, install glass balustrades to bring nature indoors and forget about dusting their exterior walls.

“Cladding materials with minimal profiles are great as they don’t collect dust or dirt and are naturally cleaned with rain,” John says.

“Glass balustrades are terrific for visibility, and make the most of the scenery around your home. Cable balustrade is also great for visibility but must be the correct stainless steel in hard ocean environments.”

Homes in Rivergum’s Coast and Country range also include large windows and doors to boost views and accessibility to the properties, raked or vaulted ceilings to further capture the scenery and allow for natural ventilation, and robust internal finished that are durable and reliable.

Large open plan living rooms are also ideal for all entertaining occasions with friends, spacious mud rooms provide plenty of room for all those fishing rods and eskies with easy-to-clean surfaces and the option for multiple decks also feature in homes in the Coast and Country range.

Rivergum Homes build throughout regional South Australia in pockets including Yorke Peninsula, Barossa Valley, Riverland, South East, Adelaide Hills as well as metro areas and interstate.
